METAFORA INNER CHILD SEBAGAI REFLEKSI DIRI DALAM SENI LUKIS
Abstract
Abstract
This creative research explores the inner child not as a traumatic entity, but as a source of vitality, creativity, and resilience for adults. The objective of this study is to reconstruct positive childhood memories into visual forms as a means of self-reflection to achieve emotional balance. Utilizing the Practice-led Research method, the creative process involved conceptual exploration, sketching, and final execution. During the process, the artist encountered technical challenges regarding the high absorbency of the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) surface, sketch transfer precision, and paint pigment compatibility. These obstacles were addressed through thorough surface sanding, the application of a white primer to lock in colors, and the standardization of acrylic paint selection. The final result consists of five two-dimensional paintings titled “Mikrokosmos,” “Into the Sun,” “My Castle,” “Euphoria,” and “Merry Go Round,” which utilize a contrasting color palette and childhood symbolism to create a supportive safe space. The conclusion affirms that a positively integrated inner child functions as a constructive psychological asset for adult maturity. Through this process, the artist successfully enhanced artistic capabilities in handling MDF media and achieved inner peace through adaptive visual expression.
