Focus and Scope

Focus
Journal of Dedication in Community (JoDiC) publishes articles on community service and community engagement programs that address real problems in society and lead to measurable and sustainable change. The journal focuses on evidence-based programs: programs that are systematically planned, carried out with the active participation of partner communities, and evaluated using clear indicators of success.

Scope
JoDiC accepts manuscripts in the following fields:

1. Education: capacity building for teachers and schools, literacy and numeracy, digital literacy, science education, inclusive and early childhood education, and non-formal and lifelong learning.

2. Science and Technology: applying science and technology to community problems, such as environmental and waste management, clean water, renewable energy, disaster risk reduction, and agriculture and food security.

3. Social Humanities: community empowerment, local wisdom and cultural preservation, gender equality and social inclusion, and legal and civic awareness.

4. Socio-Economics: development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), entrepreneurship, financial literacy, village-owned enterprises, tourism villages, and digital marketing.

5. Appropriate Technology: design, development, and transfer of simple, affordable, and locally suitable technologies, including training in their use and maintenance.

Types of Articles
- Reports of community service programs that have been carried out and evaluated.
- Research-based community service articles, such as those using Participatory Action Research (PAR), Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), or service learning.

Not Within Scope
- Program proposals or plans that have not been carried out.
- Activity reports without evaluation data (for example, only descriptions and photos of activities).
- Laboratory or theoretical studies that do not involve a partner community.
