Abstract

This study aims to determine the meaning aspects that are possessed by intransitive verbs (?? ?) and transitive verbs (? ??) in Japanese. The problems formulation contained in this study are: (1) How is the aspect of intransitive verb meaning (?? ?) in Japanese, (2) How is the aspect of transitive verb meaning (? ??) in Japanese? The first problem formulation was analyzed using the theory of verb meaning aspects from Kindaichi (1950) and the theory of intransitive verbs characteristics (?? ?) from (Zuzuki: 2000), while the second problem formulation was analyzed using the theory of the verb meaning aspects from Kindaichi (1950) and the theory of transitive verbs characteristics (? ?? )from (Moriya: 1993). The data source contained in this research is Minna No Nihongo Shokyuu I and II books, while the data used in this study are sentences containing intransitive verbs (?? ?) and transitive verbs (? ??) contained in the Minna No Nihongo Shokyuu I and II books. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive analysis method. The results in this study are: (1) Aspects of meaning in intransitive verbs (?? ?) in the Minna No Nihongo Shokyuu I and II books consist of: 1) Joutaidoushi-Jidoushi, namely verbs that state the condition in the intransitive verbs , for example in the words ??, ?? and ??????; 2) Keizokudoushi-Jidoushi, which is a verb stating the meaning of a continuing action in an intransitive verb, for example in the words ???, ??, and ??; 3) Shunkandoushi-Jidoushi, which is a verb stating the meaning of an action that ends momentarily in an intransitive verb, for example in the words ??? , ??? and ???, (2) Aspects of meaning in transitive verbs (? ??) in the Minna No Nihongo Shokyuu I and II books consist of: 1) Keizokudoushi-Tadoushi, which is a verb that states the meaning of a continuing action in a transitive verb, for example in the words ???????? , ???, and ????; 2) Shunkandoushi-Tadoushi, which is a verb stating an action that ends momentarily in an intransitive verb, for example in the words ???? and ??, (3) The amount of data contained in this study were 281 data. Based on aspects of the meaning it has, it can be divided into: Joutaidoushi-Jidoushi (4 data), Keizokudoushi-Jidoushi (48 data), Shunkandoushi-Jidoushi (37 data), Keizokudoushi-Tadoushi (189 data) and Shunkandoushi-Tadoushi (3 data).
