Abstract

Abstract

In this paper, is discussing about style of figurative language and the function of figurative language on slogan club of J1 League in 2019. This research discuss about figurative language and the function in slogan club of J1 League in 2019. The purpose of this research is to analyze the style of figurative language and the function of figurative language on slogan club of J1 League in 2019.To answer the formula of the problem, using some theory of figurtive language by Keraf and Seto. Slogan theory from Khan and Pike, then theory by Keraf which is the function of figurative language. This research is descriptive qualitative with data source is from slogan club that participating in J1 League. Data collection technique is done using theory by Sudaryanto which is note technique. Data analysis technique using theory fromSugiyono with the step data reduction, display data, and verification. In the analysis was found 9 various kind of figurative language. And there are 6 function of figurative language in analysis. From the discussion and analysis, there are found 30 data of figurative language from slogan club that participating in J1 League. And the most found from figurative language is asidentone. While the function of figurative language was found 29 data from slogan club that participating in J1 League. The most found from function of figurative language is asidentone which the function is for strengthen which use to strengthen from club vision and club symbol
