Simbol pada Lirik Lagu Album ‘Still Dreaming’ Karya Tomorrow X Together yang Mengandung Makna Motivasi

Abstract
Music has a power to communicate with the listener’s emotions. In other words, music can affect mood
just as Meyer said (in Djohan, 2020). This problem is the background of this research and aims to find out
the Symbol in the lyrics of the album song "Still Dreaming" by Tomorrow X Together which contains the
meaning of motivation, using descriptive qualitative research methods with observation methods in
extracting data. To find what the singer wants to convey in a song and take the meaning of internal and
external motivation, semiotics or the science that studies about signs and theories about motivation are
needed. The theory that used in this research is Charles Sanders Peirce’s theory regarding the principle
between a sign and its reference, namely Icons, Indexes, and Symbols, and Herzberg’s theory of internal
and external motivation. In the lyrics of the song Tomorrow X Together with the album “Still Dreaming”
with a total of 8 songs, 16 Symbols and 52 Motivations are found in it with 6 Symbols that contain both
motivations. External Motivation can be characterized by the presence of an action performed or seen by
the sense of sight and heard by the sense of hearing. While Internal Motivation can be characterized by
feelings, emotions of a person, or things related to the heart and mind, which cannot be seen directly by the
sense of sight.

音楽にはリスナーの感情と通信をとる力があります。言い換えれば、Mayer が言ったように、
音楽は気分に影響を与える可能性があります（Djohan、2020 年）。この問題が本研究の背景で
あり、本研究の目的は、Tomorrow X Together の曲「StillDreaming」の歌詞に動機付けの意味を
持つシンボルを見つけることです。この研究では、データを抽出する際に、記述的な定性的研
究と観察方法を使用します。歌手が伝えたいことを見つけ、内的および外的動機の意味を理解
するには、セミオティック理論と動機付け理論が必要です。この研究で使用された理論は、符
号とその参照、つまりアイコン、インデックス、およびシンボルの間の原理に関する Charles
Sanders Peirce の理論です。そして、Herzberg の内部および外部の動機付け理論を使用します。
曲 Tomorrow X Together の歌詞には、合計 8 曲のアルバム「StillDreaming」と一緒に、16 個のシ
ンボルと 52 個のモチベーションがあり、両方のモチベーションを含む 6 個のシンボルが含まれ
ています。外部のモチベーションは、視覚によって実行または見られ、聴覚によって聞こえる
行動の存在によって特徴付けることができます。内的モチベーションは、人の心情、感情、ま
たは心と心に関連するものによって特徴付けることができますが、これらは直接見ることはで
きません。
