Abstract
Onomatopoeia has several types, therefore the purpose of this study is to classify and disseminate its meaning . This
research uses qualitative descriptive analysis method. The source of the data is an onomatopoeia contained in the
Indonesian and Japanese collaboration comic series titled Ume's Love Story Season 2. To collect data, researchers use
seeing techniques, data reduction, data translation and note techniques. After that, at the data analysis phase, it uses a
contextual analysis method by paying attention to the identity of the contexts in the data. Furthermore, researchers will
classify the meaning of onomatopoeia using the method of sorting out the determining elements . As a result, there are 44
onomatopes in the comic series Ume's Love Story Season 2, with details: Giyougo 15 pieces, Giongo 10 pieces, Gijougo
9 pieces, Giseigo 7 pieces and Gitaigo 3 piecesin conclusion, Giyougo's Onomatope is widely found in the comic series
Ume's Love Story Season 2. The behavior of each character is given an appropriate onomatope to liven up the atmosphere
in every activity that the character is doing.as the reader often does in real life.
