TINDAK TUTUR PRAGMATIK DALAM RAGAM BAHASA HORMAT (KEIGO) PADA BUS ANNOUNCEMENT NOMOR 48 DI OKINAWA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study was conducted against the background of the problem that Indonesian learners of Japanese
language do not understand honorific language due to the lack of knowledge and difficulty in understanding it.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the types of honorific language and the range of related pragmatic speech
acts found in the announcements on the bus No. 48 in Okinawa. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research
method by Sevilla, which analyzes the obtained data without adding or deleting. The source of data is audio and
video recordings collected directly on-site. As a result of the study, a total of 115 cases of three types of honorific
language were identified. The breakdown is 24 cases of honorific language, 24 cases of humble language, and 67
cases of polite language. Of the honorific languages found, polite language was the most common, with 67 cases.
A total of 77 speech acts were identified as a result of pragmatic speech acts in this study. The breakdown is 42
cases of assertive language, 34 cases of directive language, and 1 case of expressive language. Among the speech
acts found, assertive utterances were the most frequent, with 42 instances identified.
