Abstract

This study analyzes the use of shuujoshi (a particle in the end of sentence) as a marker of the female language
variety spoken by Narukami Arashi in the main story of the online game Ensemble Stars!! titled Seven Bridge
written by Akira (???). This research is inspired by the use of shuujoshi joseigo on male characters. The
purpose of this research is to find out the form and function of shuujoshi used in the dialogue of Narukami
Arashi. This research is a qualitative research that uses descriptive method to explain the result. The data
used in this study are the dialogues of Narukami Arashi that contain shuujoshi joseigo in the story Seven
Bridge. The data is then catagorized using the theory of Chino and Sudjianto. From this study, it was found
that there were 59 data containing shuujoshi that are commonly used by women. The forms of shuujoshi
joseigo that appear include shuujoshi wa???as much as 20 data, wane????as much as 14 data, wayo
????as much as 10 data, noyo????as much as 9 data, and none????as much as 7 data.
