ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE PADA LIRIK LAGU DALAM ALBUM "SWEET" OLEH TOMORROW X TOGETHER
Abstract
This study discusses code-switching and code-mixing in the Sweet album, focusing on Metaphorical Code-Switching and Insertional Code-Mixing. The aim of the research is to identify the factors and functions of code-switching and code-mixing in the lyrics of songs in the Sweet album by Tomorrow X Together. The analysis applies theories from Muysken, Blom and Gumperz, and Holmes. A qualitative descriptive method was used. The findings reveal a total of 37 instances: 23 of Metaphorical Code-Switching and 14 of Insertional Code-Mixing. Metaphorical Code-Switching is the dominant type, indicating that language shifts in the lyrics are more often used to enhance meaning or convey emotional expression. Two main factors underlying the occurrence of code-switching and code-mixing are the Aspect of the Function or Purpose of Interaction and Lexical Borrowing, with the former being the most dominant. The identified functions include: To Emphasize the Precise Message Content, As an Expression of Affection or Feeling, and To Fill Lexical Need, with the expression of feelings being the most frequently found function. These findings indicate that the use of code-switching and code-mixing in song lyrics is not only linguistic in nature, but also rich in emotional meaning that supports the overall theme of the songs.
