DEIKSIS RUANG DALAM ANIME TORADORA! KARYA YUYUKO TAKEMIYA

Abstract

Deixis is a word whose meaning changes according to the context. Deixis used in the anime Toradora! is quite interesting to study because there are many types of deixis spoken by characters. Spatial deixis is the one of the many types of deixis that exist. The purpose of this research is to describe the types of spatial deixis and references to spatial deixis in the anime Toradora! by Yuyuko Takemiya. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data source used is in the form of speech between characters that contain spatial deixis. The data collected from the episodes of Toradora! are 82 data, which divided into 2 categories, namely spatial deixis and spatial deixis reference. Spatial deixis is divided into 4 types, which are 27 data of demonstrative deixis, 12 data of locative deixis, 30 data of modal deixis, 13 data of directional deixis, and spatial deixis reference which consist of 28 data of exophoric reference, 54 data of endophoric reference. Endophoric reference is further divided into 2 types, namely 30 data of anaphora type of endophoric data, and 24 data of cataphoric type of endophoric data.
