A KORELASI ANTARA PENGGUNAAN GAME GENSHIN IMPACT DAN PENGUASAAN KOSAKATA BAHASA JEPANG PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA JEPANG

Abstract

This study aims to describe the correlation between the use of the Genshin Impact Game and the mastery of
Japanese Vocabulary Knowledge in Students of the Japanese Language Education Study Program, Surabaya State
University. The method used in this study is a Quantitative method with an Associative Correlational approach. Data
were collected through an in-game Vocabulary Test and a sampling questionnaire filled out by 25 students of the
Class of 2021 who played the Genshin Impact Game. The results of the study show a strong relationship between
playing the Genshin Impact Game and Japanese vocabulary skills with a correlation value of 0.711. These results
indicate a positive correlation between the duration of playing the Genshin Impact Game and the increase in
students' Japanese vocabulary.
