Development of "KotobaLink" for Learning Basic Japanese Vocabulary
Abstract
This study aims to develop the KotobaLink for learning basic Japanese vocabulary and to determine how feasible this developed media is. KotobaLink is a card game that combines the concepts of shiritori and dominoes to help learners recognize and remember Japanese vocabulary written in hiragana and katakana characters. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research data was gathered through expert validation questionnaires and student response questionnaires. This data was then analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The validation results showed that the media received a score of 98.57% from media experts and 80.00% from material experts, resulting in an overall average of 89.63%, which is categorized as highly feasible. Furthermore, the student responses received a score of 89.77%, which also falls into the highly feasible category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the KotobaLink learning media is suitable and feasible to be used as a learning tool for basic Japanese vocabulary.
