ANALISIS MAJAS PERBANDINGAN DALAM LIRIK SERI LAGU 愛言葉 KARYA DECO*27
Abstract
This research is motivated by the use of figurative language in modern Japanese popular songs. This
study aims to identify the types of comparative figures of speech and interpret the connotative
meanings in the lyrics of the Ai Kotoba song series by DECO27 based on the theories of Burhan
Nurgiyantoro and Roland Barthes. This qualitative descriptive study examines data in the form of
phrases and sentences containing comparative figures of speech in the lyrics of the first to fifth
installments of the Ai Kotoba series. Data collection utilized the observation method (metode
simak) with the tapping technique (teknik sadap), non-participatory observation technique (Simak
Bebas Libat Cakap / SBLC), and note-taking technique. Data analysis was conducted using the
referential identity method (metode padan referensial) through the dividing-determining element
technique (Pilah Unsur Penentu / PUP) and the equating-comparing technique (Hubung Banding
Menyamakan / HBS). The results show that there are 27 data points of comparative figures of
speech, including simile (1 datum), metaphor (21 data points), personification (2 data points), and
allegory (3 data points). Metaphor dominates because it is used to manifest abstract emotional
concepts such as love, loyalty, and gratitude into more natural concrete objects. In conclusion, this
study proves that comparative figures of speech do not merely beautify the lyrics, but rather
function as a means of internal communication that connects the composer (DECO27), Hatsune
Miku, and the listeners.
