Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Diskusi Kelas Tipe Beach Ball sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan pada Pokok Bahasan Elastisitas

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik, keterlaksanaan, dan respon peserta didik setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran diskusi kelas tipe Beach Ball pada materi elastisitas di SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan Madiun. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre eksperimental design dengan desain penelitian one group pre-test and post-test design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga kelas yaitu Kelas X MIA 1, X MIA 6, dan X MIA 7. Ketiga kelas diberi perlakuan yang sama. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai pre-test dan post test siswa yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t-berpasangan dan indeks gain dalam aspek pengetahuan serta mendapatkan kategori baik dalam aspek keterampilan dan sikap peserta didik.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik meningkat secara signifikan dengan taraf signifikansi 5% setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran diskusi kelas tipe Beach Ball pada materi elastisitas di SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan Madiun. Berdasarkan perhitungan indeks gain terdapat peningkatan dengan kategori sedang pada ketiga kelas yaitu dengan nilai X MIA 1 (0.68), sedangkan kelas X MIA 6 (0.68) dan X MIA 7 (0.64), serta ketiga kelas mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar yang konsisten. Aktivitas keterlaksanaan guru, serta aspek keterampilan dan sikap peserta didik berada dalam kategori baik. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran diskusi kelas tipe Beach Ball yang diterapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Peserta didik pada ketiga kelas memberikan respon sangat baik terhadap pembelajaran yang diterapkan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of learning outcomes of learners, the implementation, and the response of learners after the application of learning model of class discussion of Beach Ball type on elasticity material in SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan Madiun. The type of research used is pre experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects consisted of three classes: Class X MIA 1, X MIA 6, and X MIA 7. The three classes were given the same treatment. From the research that has been done, obtained the value of pre-test and post test of students analyzed by using paired t-test and gain index in knowledge aspect and get categories both in aspect skill and attitude of learners. The results showed that the students learning outcomes increased significantly with a significance level of 5% after the implementation of the learning model of class discussion of Beach Ball type on elasticity material in SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan Madiun. Based on the calculation of gain index there is improvement with medium category in third class that is with X value MIA 1 (0.68), while class X MIA 6 (0.68) and X MIA 7 (0.64), and third class have consistent improvement of study result. Activity of teacher implementation, as well as aspect of skill and attitude of learners are in good category. This indicates that the learning model of the class discussion of the type of Beach Ball that applied can improve the learning outcomes of learners. Students in all three classes respond very well to the applied learning.
