PENGARUH KAFEIN TERHADAP PENINGKATAN VO2MAX ATLET CABANG OLAHRAGA KARATE
Abstract
Efforts to improve athlete performance require several elements that need attention, namely training programs, infrastructure facilities, nutrition, and lifestyle. Nutritional factors are also things that need to be considered in improving athlete performance, because sports nutrition is the application of nutrition to athletes so they can achieve optimal performance. In this case the physical condition of endurance is something that will be discussed with caffeine, whether caffeine and endurance have a relationship in improving the quality of endurance athletes. The subjects in this study were 8 karate athletes from the Tuban district who were then given treatment. The treatment was that the experimental group was given caffeine before undergoing exercise, and the control experimental group was not given caffeine before undergoing exercise or the MFT test. The result was that the experimental group, which was given caffeine before doing endurance physical exercise, had an average increase from the pre-test and post-test. This shows that there is an effect of giving caffeine on improving athlete performance, especially in terms of physical endurance. Caffeine which has been proven to have an effect on athlete performance is then made into other preparations that are more easily accepted by athletes at a young age. Gummy caffeine is processed caffeine in gum form which is preferred by young athletes. Then the end result of this research is the creation of products and recipes for making gummy caffeine that are traded.
