PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION MODEL TUTORIAL PADA  MATA PELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS MATERI RECOUNT UNTUK SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 30 SURABAYA

Abstract

Studi pendahuluan peneliti pada materi Recount Bahasa Inggris mendapat hasil bahwa materi yang disampaikan sulit untuk dipahami. Seperti pada masalah yang ditemui pada salah satu mata pelajaran di SMP Negeri 30 Surabaya kelas VIII. Pada observasi awal, guru menyebutkan bahwa siswa belum bisa mengerjakan tugas dari guru akibat masih kurangnya pemahaman dalam materi Recount mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Terdapat kira-kira sekitar 60% siswa dalam satu kelas mendapat nilai dibawah Standar minimum yang ditentukan. Dari permasalahan tersebut, diperoleh solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu pengembangan media Computer Assisted Instruction yang layak dan efektif. Pengembangan ini menggunakan model ADDIE (Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, Evaluasi). Media ini diterapkan dengan metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, angket, dan tes dan dilakukan uji coba. Dari hasil analisi data, Uji coba produk yang dilakukan secara bertahap menunjukan rata-rata setiap variabel media CAI yaitu uji coba perseorangan mendapat nilai tergolong kategori sangat baik. Uji coba kelompok kecil mendapat nilai tergolong kategori sangat baik. Uji coba kelompok besar pada uji coba pemakaian mendapat nilai tergolong kategori baik. Media CAI ini dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. siswa mengalami peningkatan nilai secara signifikan dari standart kompetensi minimum 78 diperoleh bukti dengan nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dimana kelas kontrol menjadi kelas pembanding untuk mengetahui hasil signifikan mengenai hasil belajar siswa. Diketahui bahwa t hitung lebih besar daripada t tabel (6,252 > 1,980) dengan demikian Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan media CAI pada mata pelajaran bahasa inggris materi Recount efektif layak digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract


Preliminary study of the researcher in the English recount material got the result that the material submitted is hard to understand. One of the examples is the problem in one of the subjects in SMP Negeri 30 Surabaya grade VIII. In the first observation, the teacher admitted that the students were not yet capable of doing the tasks because of lack of understanding in the English recount material. There were approximately 60% of students in one class who had scores which were below the minimum standard. From the problem, the solution was a development of Computer Assisted Instruction media that was proper and effective.This development used ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. This media applied data collection technique of interviews, questionnaires, tests, and trials. From the data analysis, the product trial which were done step-by-step showed that every variable in CAI media, which was trials on individual had the which was categorized as very good. The trials for small groups had the which was also categorized as very good. The trials for big groups had the which was categorized as good. CAI media was able to increase the study result. Students experienced significant score escalation from the minimum competence standard score of 78, it was proven by the score of pretest and posttest in both of experimental and controlled classes, where the controlled class was used as a comparison to discover the significant students’ study results. It was observed that thitung <ttabel (6,252> 1,980), thus Ho was rejected and Hawas accepted. Therefore, it was concluded that CAI media in English recount subject effectively fit for use and increased students’ learning result.
