ANALISIS PENYEBAB KEKALAHAN MANCHESTER UNITED VS PARIS SAINT GERMAIN DI UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2020

Abstract

Football is a sport that is favored by all circles of society played by two teams with a total of 11 players. In football games there are wins and losses, not only will every team win every game but it can also lose. This research aims to find out the cause of the defeat of Manchester United vs Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League 2020. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research with data collection techniques and statistical tables of ball mastery, passing, and shooting. The result was 1-3 which ultimately failed to qualify for the knock out round. Manchester United used a 4-2-3-1 formation and Paris Saint Germain 4-3-3. Manchester United controlled the ball 44% with 415 total passes and Paris Saint Germain 56% with 522 passes. Manchester United shot 12 times with 5 times on target and 7 times off target with a 42% success rate while Paris Saint Germain shoots 13 times with 6 times on target and 7 times off target with 46% success rate. In conclusion, the quality of the individual shooting, the skill in teamwork, and the less solid defense system are the cause of defeat. This article is intended as a reference to the mastery of balls, passing, and shooting.
