Abstract

Workout is a form of physical activity that aims to maintain body fitness. The main reason for doing sports activities is to maintain physical fitness which is considered very important in order to support optimal physical. The purpose of this study was to find out how many students did physical activity in maintaining physical fitness by exercising during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research research of this article is a non experimental research using a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method In this study using a questionnaire data collection technique (questionnaire) which is distributed through Google Form. The population in this study were all students of the State University of Surabaya with sample selection using cluster random sampling, namely representatives from each faculty totaling 110 students. The results of this study were 37% of students answered strongly agree, 55% of students answered agree and 8% of students answered neutrally and no student answered disagree with the statement that exercise is a very effective sport to do during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is proven that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Surabaya State University students continue to do sports, namely by exercising. Students' awareness of doing workouts is because the exercise is simple and flexible, a sport that even though there is no equipment, you can still do it. Workout sports can also be done by all groups, ages, wherever and whenever, and the uniqueness of workout sports is that it can adjust the rhythm and form of exercise according to their individual needs.
