Background: Recreational sports are activities that are very popular with all people. Because besides being recreational, it also has a good impact on health.. In maintaining the health of each individual, it is recommended to do sports, good and right exercise will reduce cortisol and increase endorphins, where this has an impact on stress levels and regular exercise will help reduce a person's stress level. With recreational sports activities can increase blood circulation, oxygen in the body will be smooth and the muscles will be trained so that the body's metabolism increases and is optimal. The body will feel fitter and the brain as the central nervous system will work more optimally. One of the sports activities favored by many people is cycling. Purpose: This literature review is to determine the effect of recreational sports through cycling activities on reducing stress levels in adolescents. Methods: This article uses a literature review technique. Compiled based on journals and articles published from 2013 to 2020 by using keywords for each variable that has been adjusted as many as 5 national journals and also 5 international journals. Result: the cycling activity variable has the same important effect as the recreational sport variable on reducing stress. Discussion: similar results are shown in most of the research results in the literature that are generally used which states that cycling activities can help reduce a person's level of anxiety. Conclusion: it states the results of a significant relationship between cycling activities and reducing stress levels. Because someone is able to overcome emotions and prevent anxiety so that they can reduce stress and depression.
