The use of technology in Indonesia is growing rapidly. This has caused the level of gadget use among school-age children to also increase, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Decreased physical activity with increased sedentary activity will have a negative impact on school-age children. The purpose of this study is to find out the sedentary activities carried out by elementary school students at SDN Kertajaya 5 Surabaya. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative survey method. The sample in this study amounted to 95 students who were elementary school students at SDN Kertajaya 5 Surabaya. This sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The instrument for measuring sedentary activity is the Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ). Data were analyzed using independent sample t- test. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it shows an average of 7.72 (2.41) hours female students doing screen-based activities on weekends with high intensity. While the activities carried out with low intensity occurred in male students in study-based activities having an average of 1.31 (0.54) hours. Sedentary behavior that occurs in elementary school age students has exceeded the predetermined limit. Elementary school age students spend more of their sedentary time playing smartphones and other sedentary activities.
