TINGKAT MOTIVASI BEROLAHRAGA DAN AKTIVITAS FISIK PADA REMAJA DI MASA PANDEMI COVID 19

Abstract

The role of motivation is very important as a driver to carry out physical sports activities in adolescents during the pandemic. The general purpose of this study is to describe the motivation and level of physical activity of sports in adolescents during the Covid 19 pandemic. The sample in this study was adolescents aged 20 – 23 years as many as 76 people, consisting of 23 boys and 53 girls, taking sample using voluntary sampling technique. The data collection technique was through a motivation questionnaire for sports activities consisting of 13 statements and IPAQ to measure the level of physical activity. Questionnaires were distributed online via google form. The results show that the motivation to do sports activities is in the low category (25%), medium category (50%) and high category (25%). The level of physical activity in the low category (87%), moderate category (13%) and heavy category (0%). Furthermore, the description of motivation to carry out sports activities that are influenced by intrinsic factors, in order to stay healthy and fit is 98.68%, while those influenced by extrinsic factors in the form of adequate facilities and infrastructure are 71.05%. The conclusion is that the motivation of adolescents to carry out sports activities during the Covid 19 pandemic is in the moderate category with low levels of physical activity with a description of the motivation to maintain health and fitness.
