Abstract

The quality of life of children is determined by their daily health behavior, both in physical and psychological conditions. Gross motor skills are body movements that use most of the large muscles or all of the extremities that are influenced by the maturity of the child, including basic motor movements, non-motor movements, and manipulations. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of life, gross motor skills of children and also the relationship between quality of life and gross motor skills. The method in this study uses descriptive quantitative survey. A total of 33 samples participated in this study. KIDSCREEN27 is used to measure children's quality of life. While gross motor skills in children use the Barrow Motor Ability Test instrument. Data analysis used percentage analysis, independent sample and bivariate Pearson correlation. The results showed that the average quality of life of students at moderate intensity was 54.5%, the result of the p-value of the independent sample test was 0.28 so that between men and women there was no difference in the quality of life. Then on the gross motor skills of students, the average intensity is 48.5%, the p-value of the overall independent sample test is 0.000 so that between male and female students there is a significant difference. The bivariate Pearson correlation test for students' quality of life with gross motor skills obtained a p-value of 0.149. This shows that the variables of quality of life and gross motor skills are related and there is no correlation.
