This research is motivated by a problem related to the low level of student independence in the affective domain of physical education teaching and learning activities. To increase students' independence, the researcher made an experiment. The purpose of this research is to find out how outdoor education activities affect the level of independence of students in physical education. With conventional learning and outside the classroom, researchers used experimental methods in the form of Design Control Group Pretest and posttest on students of SDI Pojok 2 Kediri City. The sample consisted of all fifth-grade students with a total of 60 students. The results showed satisfactory results, the experimental group with an average of 82.47, while the control group with an average of 78.53. From these results the average value of the control class is lower than the experimental class. the experimental group proved better and broadly developed ideas in student independence in physical education. The T-value obtained is 2.969 which is significantly higher than the T-table value. The value of the T-table is 2.0003, then compared with the t obtained which strengthens the evidence to reject the null hypothesis (2.969 > 2.0003). The test analysis succeeded in verifying that the use of outdoor education was effective in increasing student independence in physical education for fifth grade students at SDI Pojok 2 Kediri City.
