Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of giving traditional long tumble sports to the improvement of students' gross motor movements. This research method uses a quasi-experimental, with One Sample Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of male students who have an age range of 9-12 years, and analyzed by statistics. Based on the data obtained, it is proven by the results of the Sig. (2-tailed) zigzag run of 0.000 0.05. Then from the mean pretest (8.1292), posttest (8.0317) increased with a difference of 0.9750. Value of Sig. (2-tailed) 40-meter run is 0.000 0.05. Then from the mean pretest (7.0392), posttest (6.9967) increased with a difference of 0.4250. Value of Sig. (2-tailed) long jump of 0.000 0.05. Then from the mean pretest (2.9492), posttest (2.9883) increased with a difference of 0.3917. Value of Sig. (2-tailed) balance of 0.004 0.05. Then from the mean pretest (13.0208), posttest (13.2433) increased with a difference of 2.225. Value of Sig. (2-tailed) throw and catch a tennis ball of 0.002 0.05. Then from the mean pretest (4.25), posttest (6.58) increased with a difference of 2.33. Thus, the provision of traditional long tumble sports is good for improving the gross motor movements of male students at SDN 18 Limboto, Gorontalo Regency.
