Abstract
Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-confidence levels and the performance of male cricket athletes in Lumajang Regency. Cricket in Lumajang Regency is relatively new and has been developing since 2024, so it is important to identify psychological factors that influence athlete performance, especially self-confidence. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with a correlation study approach. The population in this study were all 12 male cricket athletes in Lumajang Regency, with a sampling technique using total sampling. The research instrument used a self-confidence questionnaire adapted from Durrunnafisa (2021) and documentation of achievements in the form of runs (batting) for one year. The data were analyzed through normality test, linearity test, and product moment correlation test with the help of Excel program. The results showed that the level of athlete's self-confidence was in the medium to high category, with an average score of 120. However, the results of the correlation test showed a value of r = -0.094 and t count (0.30) < t table (2.228), so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between self-confidence and the achievements of Cricket athletes in Lumajang Regency. This shows that athlete's achievements are not only influenced by self-confidence factors, but also by other factors such as technical skills, experience, and social support. This study recommends that the development of Cricket athletes in Lumajang Regency includes mental, technical, and social environmental aspects to support overall improvement in achievement.
