Abstract

Background: Offensive performance is a key factor in determining success in elite futsal competitions. Match statistics, including attempt at goal, shot on target, assist, and goals, can be used to evaluate attacking performance. Objective: This study aimed to describe the offensive performance of the Big Four teams in the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup 2025. Methods: A quantitative descriptive design with a match analysis approach was employed. Secondary data were obtained from official FIFA match statistics. The sample consisted of the four semifinalist teams (Argentina, Spain, Portugal, and Brazil). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Portugal recorded the highest number of goals in both the group stage (23 goals) and the playoff stage (14 goals). Brazil produced the highest number of shot on target in both stages, while Portugal and Brazil recorded the highest attempt at goal. Teams with higher numbers of attempt at goal and shot on target generally showed greater goal productivity. Conclusion: The offensive performance of the Big Four teams was characterized by both the quantity of shooting attempts and the quality of finishing. These findings may serve as a reference for evaluating attacking performance and developing training programs to improve finishing effectiveness in elite women's futsal
