Abstract

Abstract

From the results of an interview with one of the teachers majoring in mechanical engineering at SMKN 2 Pamekasan, it’s known that educators still have difficulty in providing an overview or illustration in conveying the basic material for basic mechanical engineering design subjects. The purpose of this research is to create an android-based media device that can be run on smartphones by students to help students understand the basic material of mechanical engineering design. This research uses the R&D method with the 4D development model. This study uses a "One Group Pretest-Posttest" design. The data analysis technique used a validation instrument, a pre-test post-test instrument and also a student response instrument. This study resulted in the feasibility of learning media that was very feasible with a percentage value of material feasibility of 83.33% and media feasibility of 91.66%. The results of the effectiveness of learning media are 0.614 which are in the medium category. Student responses to the developed media got a percentage value of 86% which can be said to be very positive, Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed Android-based learning media device can be usedas teaching material for basic mechanical engineering design subjects.
