The low level of ability of students in grinding HSS lathes is a problem due to the fact that grinding HSS lathes takes and the resulting angular geometry in accordance with standard. Therefore, research was carried out which aimed to improve students' skills in grinding HSS lathes by creating angle pad learning media that were suitable for use using the Research and Development research method with the ADDIE approach. Media testing was carried out by comparing the experimental class and the control class using the pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of 66 students of class X TPM mechanical engineering expertise program. The results of the analysis show that the angle pad learning media has high validity based on the assessment of media experts (93.33) and material experts (96.66). response of media is also positive with a value of 3.2. In addition, there is a significant effect on student learning outcomes in the practice of grinding HSS lathes based on the results of statistical calculations (Asymp. Sig. = 0.000 <0.05) so that the angle pad learning media is effective in improving students' abilities in grinding HSS lathes.
