Based on observations made by researchers in the undergraduate study program Mechanical Engineering Education, Surabaya State University, there are several obstacles faced, namely in the learning media trainer currently used in the Automotive Electrical Practices course, especially in the material of the charging system which only focuses on the charging system, so that students have difficulty in understanding the charging system material which is the same as the real conditions in the car. The purpose of this research is to develop learning media in the form of charging system trainer using a load with certain procedures that are in accordance with the objectives to be achieved. This research method is using the 4D development model. The subjects of this study were undergraduate students of Engineering Education Mechanical Engineering concentration of automotive class 2023 with a total of 5 students. Data collection in the form of a validation questionnaire sheet trainer and student response questionnaire sheet. The data analysis carried out is the analysis of trainer validation, and the analysis of student responses. The results of this study are in the form learning media for charging system trainers using loads that have been validated and declared suitable for use for learning with a validation score of 3.88 which is included in the Very Valid category. The results of student responsesto the charging system trainer media using the load are stated to be Very Good which obtained a score of 3.88, so it can be stated that the media is very good.
