PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) PADA MATA PELAJARAN MENGGAMBAR DASAR TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS X SMKN 1 AROSBAYA

Abstract

ABSTRACEducational problems always occur together with developing and increasing the ability of students ,situations and environmental conditions . Based on the information that was obtained Researchers atSMK Negeri 1 Arosbaya , there are problems that cause students lacking the spirit of the teaching andlearning activities , in which it will affect student achievement . One of the factors that influence thestudents' enthusiasm for learning is a teaching method used . The majority are still many conventionallearning methods that a more centered learning teachers , so that students are less active , which inthe end they tend to get bored and tired when teaching and learning activities , thus affecting theiracademic achievement . This study aimed to describe the effect of the application of contextuallearning model of teaching and learning ( CTL ) in improving student achievement in basic drawingsubjectsin class X TKR at SMK Negeri 1 Arosbaya.This research is a classroom action research (CAR ) , research that is collaborative actionresearch cycles consisted of two rounds . Each round cycle include : planning , action , observationand reflection . The subject of this research is class X TKR second semester of academic year2012/2013 which followed the Basic Drawing lessons. Data from this study were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively . Data collection techniques used were observation , questionnaire,and test evaluation .Based on the analysis of research data obtained by the percentage of student activity firstcycle of 81,1% are very good, the activities of teachers in the first cycle of 91,2% including theexcellent category, student responses on the first cycle of 85,97% categorized as good, andcompleteness classical students in the first cycle were 20 students who completed the percentage of66.7%. While the percentage of activity in the second cycle students increased to 90.86%, the activityincreased to 96.54% of teachers, student responses increased to 88.65% and the classicalcompleteness students increased by 29 students, or be 96.7%. From this study it can be concluded thatthe application of learning models Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) can improve studentachievement class X SMK Negeri 1 Arosbaya.
