Abstract
To enhance the quality of education, the learning activities in the Light Vehicle Design department at SMKN 3 Surabaya need to align with the industry's qualification standards. Consequently, adjustments in teaching methods during the learning process are imperative. One effective approach that can be implemented is the problem-based learning (PBL) model. This research employs a quantitative method, specifically a quasi-experimental post-test only control design. The study focuses on all Class XI students in Light Vehicle Engineering at SMKN 3 Surabaya, with Class XI TKR 3 designated as the experimental group and another class as the control group, chosen based on their higher scores in critical thinking and interest in learning compared to the t-table value. Moreover, results from an interest survey indicate that 82% of respondents fall into the highly interested category, demonstrating strong enthusiasm for the experimental approach.
