Abstrak

Penelitian yang berjudul “Kepribadian Tokoh Ayah dan Tokoh Dam dalam Novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong Karya Tere Liye: Teori Kepribadian Abraham Maslow” ini dilatarbelakangi oleh novel yang menceritakan suatu peristiwa yang berkaitan dengan kepribadian seseorang dalam memenuhi kebutuhannya. Berdasarkan latar belakang, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pemenuhan kebutuhan-kebutuhan tokoh Ayah dan tokoh Dam hingga mampu mengaktualisasikan diri. Tokoh Ayah memiliki peran penting terhadap kehidupan tokoh Dam. Oleh karena itu, dari pemenuhan kebutuhan yang dilakukan oleh kedua tokoh tersebut maka akan tampak kepribadian masing-masing tokoh. Secara garis besar manfaat dari penelitian ini yaitu sebagai bahan rujukan serta menambah wawasan bagi pembaca mengenai kepribadian tokoh Ayah dan tokoh Dam dalam novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong karya Tere Liye.

Dengan adanya kebutuhan-kebutuhan bertingkat serta kepribadian pada tokoh Ayah dan Dam dalam novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong, maka peneliti tertarik untuk mengkaji teks dalam novel yang mengandung peristiwa-peristiwa yang memuat rumusan masalh sebagai data penelitian. Teori kepribadian Abraham Maslow digunakan untuk mengkaji teks dalam novel yang mengindikasikan suatu tokoh melakukan pemenuhan kebutuhan bertingkat dan kepribadian yang dominan pada tokoh Ayah dan tokoh Dam.

Abstract

The research entitled "Personality of the Father and Dam Figure in My Fathers Novel (Not) Liar by Tere Liye: Abraham Maslows Personality Theory" is motivated by a novel that tells an event related to ones personality in meeting his needs. Based on the background, the purpose of this study is to describe the fulfillment of the needs of the leaders of the father and the figure of the dam to be able to actualize themselves. Father figures play an important role in the life of Dams character. Therefore, from fulfilling the needs of the two figures, the personality of each character will appear. Broadly speaking, the benefits of this research are as reference material and add insight to the reader about the personality of the figure Dam and father in my fathers novel (Not) A liar by Tere Liye.

With the multilevel needs and personality of the figure of Ayah and Dam in my Ayah novel (Not) liar, the researcher is interested in studying the texts in the novel which contain events that contain the mass formula as research data. Abraham Maslows personality theory is used to examine texts in novels which indicate a character fulfills multilevel needs and dominant personality in the character of the father and figure of Dam.
