Bahasa mandarin menjadi salah satu bahasa asing yang diterapkan diberbagai sekolah sebagai pelajaran muatan
lokal. Pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin di SMA Negeri 1 Puri hanya terpaku buku ajar sehingga siswa kesulitan dalam
belajar, khususnya menyusun kalimat dalam bahasa Mandarin. Peneliti menggunakan media pembelajaran yang akan
membangkitkan semangat siswa dan membuat siswa berpartisipasi dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas secara tidak
langsung yakni media permainan Thematic Domino. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui penggunan,
keefektifan, dan respon siswa pada penggunaan media permainan Thematic Domino terhadap kemampuan menyusun
kalimat sederhana bahasa Mandarin siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Puri Mojokerto.
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian true experimental design dalam bentuk pre test post test control grup design
dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasinya adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Puri Mojokerto
tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, hasilnya kelas X IPA 5
sebagai kelas kontrol, X IPA 7 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Penelitian dilaksanakan 2 kali pertemuan beralokasi waktu
4x45 menit. Pembelajaran kelas kontrol menggunakan media Powerpoint dan kelas eksperimen menggunakan media
permainan Thematic Domino.
Hasil analisis observasi guru kelas eksperimen pertemuan pertama diperoleh 80,9%, pertemuan kedua 86,3%.
Hasil analisis observasi kegiatan siswa pada kelas eksperimen pertemuan pertama 74%, pertemuan kedua 82%.
Persentase dikonversikan ke skala likert termasuk kategori “ baik”, menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Thematic

Domino efektif pada proses pembelajaran penyusunan kalimat sederhana bahasa Mandarin. Hasil analisis nilai pre-
test dan post-test kelas eksperimen memperoleh t0 = 3,80 dan db = 58, ts 0,05 = 2,00, menunjukkan bahwa (3,80>

2,00), berarti Ho ditolak, Ha diterima. Artinya terlihat terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pre test dan post test
X IPA 7 SMA Negeri 1 Puri Mojokerto. Hasil analisis angket respon siswa semua berada kisaran 81% -86,7%.
Menunjukkan penggunan media Thematic Domino mendapat tanggapan baik dari siswa selama pembelajaran
menyusun kalimat sederhana bahasa Mandarin.

Abstract

In the era of globalization foreign language learning becomes very important. Mandarin is one of the foreign
languages that has been applied in various schools as a local content lesson. Learning Mandarin at SMA Negeri 1 Puri
is only fixated on teaching books so that students have difficulty in learning, especially to compose sentences in
Mandarin. In overcoming these problems, researchers use learning media that will excite students and make them
participate in the learning process in the classroom indirectly, namely the game media Thematic Domino. The purpose
of this study was to find out the user, effectiveness, and response of students to the use of Thematic Domino game
media to the ability to compose simple Chinese sentences of Grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Puri Mojokerto.

This research is true experimental design research in the form of pre test post test control group design using
descriptive quantitative approach. The population of this research is all students of grade X SMA Negeri 1 Puri
Mojokerto school year 2019/2020. Sampling was done using simple random sampling technique with class X IPA 5
result as control class, and X IPA 7 as experimental class. This study was conducted 2 times meeting with a time
allocation of 4x45 minutes. Control class learning using Powerpoint media and experimental classroom learning using
Thematic Domino game media.
The result of observation analysis of teachers in the first meeting experiment class was obtained 80.9%, and
the second meeting was obtained 86.3%. The results of observation analysis of student activities in the first meeting
experiment class was obtained 74%, and the second meeting was obtained 82%. This percentage if converted to likert
scale belongs to the category " good", This indicates that the use of Thematic Domino media is effective in the learning
process of simple Chinese sentence preparation. The results of the analysis of pre-test and post-test values in the
experimental class obtained t0 = 3.80 and db = 58, and ts 0.05 = 2.00, indicating that (3.80> 2.00), which means Ho
was rejected and Ha accepted. It means that there is a significant difference between the results of pre test and post
test class X IPA 7 SMA Negeri 1 Puri Mojokerto. The results of the student response questionnaire analysis were all in the range of 81%-86.7%. Shows that the use of Thematic Domino media received a good response from students
during the learning of composing simple Chinese sentences.
