Publication Ethics Statement
The statement of the scientific code of ethics is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, reviewers, and authors.
In general, the publication ethics of the Journal of PAUD Teratai refers to COPE and is based on the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.
In essence, the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications upholds three ethical values in publications, namely:
1. Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications;
2. Fairness, which is giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors; and
3. Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.
The Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
1. To ensure that those included in the list of authors/writers meet the criteria as authors/writers.
2. To take collective responsibility for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
3. To state the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
4. To explain the limitations of the research
5. To respond to comments made by the reviewers in a professional and timely manner.
6. To inform the editor if the paper is to be retracted.
7. To make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
The Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers
1. To determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if needed.
2. To determine the membership of the editorial board.
3. To define the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
4. To respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
5. To implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
6. To conduct a review of journal policies and communicate them to authors, the editorial board, reviewers, and readers.
7. To establish code of conduct guidelines for editors and reviewers.
8. To publish the journal regularly.
9. To ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
10. To build a network of cooperation and marketing.
11. To prepare licenses and other legal aspects.
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor
1. To bring together the needs of readers and authors,
2. To strive for continuous improvement of publication quality,
3. To implement a process to ensure the quality of published papers,
4. To promote freedom of opinion objectively,
5. To maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record,
6. To submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary,
7. To be responsible for the style and format of the paper, while the content and all statements in the paper are the responsibility of the author/writer,
8. To solicit actively the opinions of authors, readers, reviewers, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications,
9. To encourage the assessment of the journal if there are findings,
10. To support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requiring authors to submit an Ethics Clearance form approved by the Ethics Clearance Committee,
11. To support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
12. To assess the effect of the publication's policies on the attitudes of authors and reviewers and improve them to increase responsibility and minimize errors,
13. To have an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions,
14. Not maintaining one's own, author's or third party's opinion that may result in a non-objective decision,
15. To encourage authors/writers, so that they can make improvements to the paper until it is suitable for publication.
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Reviewer
1. To receive an assignment from the editor to review the paper and submit the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the eligibility of a paper for publication.
2. Reviewers should not review papers in which they are directly or indirectly involved.
3. To maintain the author's privacy by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations.
4. To encourage the author/writer to make improvements to the written work
5. To review the paper in accordance with the predetermined standards.
6. The paper is reviewed in a timely manner according to the publication's style based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author's legality, conclusions, etc.).
