Abstract

This research is conducted because of the lack of children’s ability in recognizing number A group of DharmaWanita Kindergarten Kademangan Blitar. Some children still cannot recognize the number well. The researcherwants to apply singing activity for the children to recognize the number.Applying singing activity in the teaching and learning process of numerical recognition lesson for the childrenis used to make the children be more interested in learning numbers. Generally, singing activity is used as theplaying activity for the children, therefore they can support the children to study. By singing, children will beeasier to learn, master, and practice something which is delivered by the teacher. Counting activity use anactivity where the children has understood and recognized the numerical concept. It will be more interesting forthe children when the teacher deliver it through singing activity.This research is Pre-experimental research by using One-Group-Pretest-Posttest design. The data collectingmethod used is direct observation, where the researcher plays role in the activity. The subjects of this researchare 20 children of A group at Dharma Wanita kindergarten Kademangan Blitar. The analysis data which isused in the research is Statistics Non-Parametrics by using Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Sign Rank test.The result is in the form of scores from pre-test and post-test. The result is analyzed by using Wilcoxon PairsSign Rank test.The result is tcount < ttable (0<52). It means that hypothesis of the research “singing activity influences the abilityof recognizing number of A group children at Dharma Wanita kindergarten Kademangan Blitar” is accepted.
