PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE PROYEK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL BENTUK GEOMETRI PADA ANAK KELOMPOK B TK DHARMA WANITA WOROMARTO PURWOASRI KEDIRI

Abstract

Saat anak sudah memasuki sekolah, yang menjadi pusat perhatian orang tua adalah kemampuan kognitif, salah satu kemampuan kognitif adalah konsep bentuk, warna, ukuran dan pola. Kehidupan kita tidak lepas dari salah satu kemampuan kognitif tersebut. Kemampuan ini bisa diajarkan orang tua di rumah. Dalam mengenalkan bentuk geometri orang tua tidak mengenalkan beserta namanya, sehingga anak kurang tau akan nama-nama dari bentuk geometri tersebut. Berbekal pengetahuan yang sudah diperoleh di rumah, ini sesuai dengan metode yang dikembangkan oleh William Heard Kilpatrick, beliau menggunakan kata ‘proyek” untuk menggambarkan bentuk alamiah metode tersebut pada awal gerakan pendidikan progresif di Amerika. Metode ini merupakan cara mengajar yang memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menggunakan atau menggali pengetahuannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai bahan pelajarannya. Metode ini sangat bertolak belakang dengan metode saat itu, yang berorentasi pada pendidik dan banyak penugasan. Ini sesuai dengan kenyataan di TK Dharma Wanita Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri, kegiatan pembelajaran di TK tersebut menggunakan masih menggunakan model pembelajaran klasikal.Hal inilah yang menjadi latar belakang peneliti untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode proyek terhadap kemampuan mengenal bentuk geometri di TK Dharma Wanita Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri. Penelitian ini mengguanakan jenis penelitian pre eksperimental design dengan one group pre-test dan post-test design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi untuk mengetahui kemampuan mengenal bentuk geometri anak. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelompok B TK Dharma Wanita Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri yang berjumlah 22 anak. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis statistik non-parametrik dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon.Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh Thitung < Ttabel. Jadi Ha diterima maka dinyatakan ada penggunaan pengaruh metode proyek terhadap kemampuan mengenal bentuk geometri pada anak kelompok B TK Dharma Wanita Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri.

ABSTRACT

One of the parent’s atentions to their children when their children enter the school is their cognitive skill. One of their cognitive skill is the concept of shape, color, size, and pattern. Our lives cannot be separated form that cognitive skill. This skill can be taugh by the parens at home. In regognizeing the geometrical, the parents do not inform the children about the name of the sahpe, therefore the children do not know it. Based on the knowladge from their home, like what is developed by William Herad Kilpatrick, he uses the term “project” to describe the nature of this in the beginning of the progesive education in America. This method is a teaching methode which gives the student chance to use or explore their knowledge in their daily live as their leraning materials. This method is the opposite of the existence method at that time. The existence method at that time is teacher center and tasks oriented. It is in line with the fact learning that are many tasks at the Dharma Wanita Kindergarten Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri. The learning activities in this kindergaten still use the classical learning style.This fact becomes background of this research which aim to know the effect of using project method for the ability to recognize the geometrical shape at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri. This researchnis pre-experimental design by using one group pre-test and post-test design. This is quantitative research. The data collecting method is obsevervation which is used to know the children’s ability to recognize the geometrical shape.The subject of this research are 22 studens of B group at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri. The data analysis technique used is non-parametric statistic by using Wilcoxon test.The result is Tcount < Ttable. Ha is accepted, therefore it can be stated that there is an effect of project method for B group children’s ability to recognize the geometrical shape at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten Woromarto Purwoasri Kediri.
