THE EFFECT OF OBSTACLE GAMES ON GROSS MOTOR ABILITY OF CHILDREN AGED 4-5 YEARS AT TK DHARMA WANITA PERSATUAN SUMENGKO GRESIK

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the game "Halang Rintang" on gross motor skills of children aged 4-5 years at TK Dharma Wanita Persatuan Sumengko Gresik which is motivated by the lack of gross motor skills of children in the aspects of balance, flexibility and agility. The research subjects were 47 children. This study used a quantitative research approach with a quasi experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. Data collection techniques using observation. The data analysis technique used a non- parametric statistical data test, namely the Mann-Whitney U-Test. The results of the Mann-Whitney U-Test data analysis showed the Asymp value. Sig. (2 tailed), which is equal to 0.000, so it is in accordance with the basis for the decision making of the Mann-Whitney U-Test with a significance level or Asymp. Sig (2 tailed) 0,000 smaller than 0.05 indicates that there is a significant difference between the mean of the experimental group and the control group with the experimental group higher than the control group. Thus, the results of the study can be concluded that there is an effect of "Obstacle" on gross motor skills of children aged 4-5 years at TK Dharma Wanita Persatuan Sumengko Gresik.
