Abstract

The ability of children in recognizing letters is not easy. One of the reason that the children getting difficulty in recognizing letters is "p" "q" "b" and "d". As a result, introducing letters by the socialization, and funny learning method like games have big role and impact in the future. This research, showed the of impact tin alphabet learning media for children 4-5 age in recognizing letters. The aim of this research is to measure the achievement of children’s vocabulary with a scores ranging from 1-4. This study uses a pre-experimental method, while the data collection using a group of children aged 4-5 years old for pre test and post test, at KB TK Islam Assakinah Sukodono, Sidoarjo, East Java. The analysis process uses quantitative and qualitative descriptions of the results of the validity test and reliability testing using inter-rater reliability and the formula used is Cohen Kappa.. In addition, the results of the Paired Sample Test showed 0.000 <0.05, meaning that the Alphabet Cans media had an effect in improving the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years at KB TK Islam Assakinah, Sukodono, Sidoarjo.
