The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of picture story books on the toilet training skills of children ages 2-4 years in the less-than-optimal playgroup of Surabaya. Populations in this study were children ages 2-4 years, which consisted of 13 children. The aspects observed were physical, emotional aspects, and verbal aspects. The research method used in this study is the pre-experimental design method in the form of one group pretest-posttest through the nonparametric Wilcoxon Match Pairs test, an increase in results was obtained from the pretest to the posttest. This shows the effect of picture story books on toilet training skills for children ages 2-4 years. The picture story book contains material on how to take off your pants, squat over the toilet, clean yourself/wipe up, flush the dirt, and put it back on using detailed illustrations and colorful pictures. So that the toilet training skills of defecating or urinating are carried out by children starting from opening their pants to putting their pants back on.
