Abstract

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe the formation of independent character of 4-5 years old children in Khadijah Wonokromo Kindergarten Surabaya. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a case study research type. The subject of this research is the homeroom teacher of group A (Ar-Rasyid class) of Khadijah Wonokromo Surabaya Kindergarten. The data analysis technique in this study used the Miles and Heberman model, namely data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results showed that the process of implementing the eating learning activities in the formation of independent character has three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. First, planning is the making of eating SOPs, preparing food menus, socializing with parents, providing infrastructure, and cooperation between foundations, schools, parents, and caterers is needed. Second, the implementation of eating learning activities begins with the habituation of washing hands. Eating learning activities are carried out every day with a duration of approximately 30 minutes. Third, evaluation is by evaluating the meal menu, and checking height and weight once a month. Evaluation of children's character is carried out by the teacher by giving an assessment to children using observation techniques. The whole process of the eating learning kegiatan is carried out through several stages, can form independence in children.
