THE EFFECT OF TRADITIONAL ENKLE GAME MODIFICATION ON BALANCE IN CHILDREN 5-6 YEARS OLD
Abstract
Abstract
Learning activities in Group B Kindergarten experience several problems that are often found in the field, namely
the learning activities carried out are not appropriate because there is still a lack of media that teachers use to
support the learning process. The teacher has a skill in implementing learning through play. Teachers more often
provide learning in the form of assignments using magazines or LKA so that the development of recognizing
number symbols in children is still low. Playing activities in early childhood education are certainly inseparable
from the media as a means of playing. Learning media that are appropriate for use in early childhood education
are learning media that are interesting and fun for children. One of the learning media that can be used in honing
children's kinesthetics is the crank game. This research was conducted at Tunas Harapan Jaya Kindergarten
located at Jalan Kedungmangu No. 30. The sample used was 43 students from class B1, namely 21 students, while
class B2 consisted of 22 students. The type of research used in this study is Quasi Experimental with the
development of a true experimental design. This study used the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Based on the
above results, the pre-test average value in the experimental group was 0.548 higher than the control class, 0.519.
While the post-test average value in the experimental group was also higher by 0.915 than the control class by
0.873. The experimental group is class B1 while the control group is B2. After that, the Mann-Whitney test obtained
a significant value of 0.004 > 0.05, meaning that modifications to the media of traditional crank games greatly
affect balance in children aged 5-6 years. So that the experimental and control classes both use the traditional
ankle game media but the results are different. With the media modification of traditional ankle games on balance,
students 5-6 years old get a positive response and play an active role in learning.
