The Relationship between Kindergarten Teachers' Pedagogical Competencies and Early Childhood Reading Learning in the City of Surabaya

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship and influence of preschool teachers' pedagogical competence on the early childhood learning outcomes in Surabaya City. This study employs a quantitative research approach with a survey method. Data collection in this research is conducted using a questionnaire. The sample used in the study consists of 122 preschool teachers who teach children aged 4-6 years. Data analysis is carried out using SPSS 26 for hypothesis testing. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation and influence of preschool teachers' pedagogical competence on early childhood learning outcomes. This is indicated by the Sig value of the correlation and regression tests, which is 0.000 < 0.05. It is crucial for teachers to enhance their pedagogical competence to maximize the quality of early childhood learning outcomes. Early childhood learning outcomes will have a positive impact on their subsequent higher education levels.
