Implementation of Onigiri (Animated Video of the Contents of My Plate) to Improve the Critical Thinking Ability of Children Aged 5-6 Years
Abstract
Education is a foundation that must be stimulated as early as possible. Through educational stimulation in the form of learning, you can improve your ability to think. Critical thinking skills emphasize children to make choices according to their thoughts, one of which is in determining what food to consume. The aim of this research is to determine the results of experimental learning using Onigiri media in stimulating the critical thinking abilities of children aged 5-6 years. The method used is (Classroom Action Research) PTK with activities referring to four main activities (action planning, implementation, observation and reflection). The test subjects were 26 group B children at Al-Fatah Nginden Islamic Kindergarten, Surabaya. Data collection techniques use observation and documentation. The results of this research obtained a pre-cycle percentage of 56% which increased in the first cycle to 73%. Then in cycle II it was 88%. This shows that the experimental method is very suitable for learning to introduce healthy and nutritious food using onigiri media to improve critical thinking skills in children aged 5-6 years.
