Hubungan Penggunaan Gadget Terhadap Potensi Tantrum Pada Anak Usia 4-5 Tahun
Abstract
Purpose of this research is to examine whether there is a relationship between the use of gadgets and the
potential for tantrums in children aged 4-5 years in Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency. This research
adopts a quantitative method with an ex post facto type of research, namely research that takes data when the
phenomenon has already occurred and does not require treatment from the researcher. The population in this
study were all parents of children aged 4-5 years who live in Tanggulangin District who use gadgets every day.
101 representative samples were taken to fill out the research questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in
this research uses the Pearson Correlation technique. From the results of processing the data obtained, it
produces final data with a significance value of 0.000, the value is <0.05 and a correlation coefficient of 0.662.
This means that there is a relationship between the use of gadgets and the potential for tantrums, so Ho is
rejected and Ha is accepted. The relationship between the two is in the strong category and the relationship
between the two is in the same direction. Through a questionnaire that was distributed and filled in by parents, it
was found that children aged 4-5 years in Tanggulangin District were given access to gadgets every day by their
parents with frequent intensity. Then information was obtained through a research questionnaire that children
tend to show manipulative tantrum type behavior. This type of tantrum is usually shown by children to attract
the attention of others and encourage others to fulfill the child's wishes.
