THE INFLUENCE OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING ON THE SOCIAL CHARACTER OF CHILDREN AGED 5 - 6 YEARS AT TANJUNGSARI KINDERGARTEN, SURABAYA

Abstract

Children's social character is very important to pay attention to, develop and implement well. Learning will influence the development of a child's character, especially the character of cooperation and caring for children. The urgency in this research is that the social character of children aged 5 - 6 years is not being improved through the learning process at school and learning about children's social character also needs to be done at home with good habits. The aim of this research is to determine whether Project Based Learning has an influence on the social character of children aged 5 - 6 years at Tanjungsari Kindergarten, Surabaya. The method used is quantitative and pre-experimental research design with one group pretest-posttest type. Data was collected using observation and documentation techniques. The analysis used in this research is analysis using the Wiloxon Match Pairs formula assisted by SPSS For Windows software. It was obtained from the results of the hypothesis test that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2 tailed) is 0.000, where this value is smaller than the threshold value for the significance requirement of 0.05 or 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it can be stated that there is an influence of project based learning on the social character of children aged 5-6 years at Tanjungsari Kindergarten Surabaya.
