MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN ANAK MENGENAL BENTUK GEOMETRI MELALUI MEDIA PAPTRI DI KELOMPOK B PPT BEJI BERSEMI PAKAL SURABAYA

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in children’s ability to recognize geometric shapes using the PAPTRI (Geometric Puzzle Board) media in group PPT Beji Bersemi Pakal Surabaya. The research metode used was classroom action research with the subjects of this study being children in group at PPT Beji Bersemi Pakal Surabaya totaling 15 children consisting of 5 boys and 10 girls.The analysis technique used in this study was the data collection technique through observation and documentation. The formulation of the problem in this study is “how to improve children’s ability to recognize geometric shapes through PAPTRI media in group B PPT Beji Bersemi Pakal Surabaya. This study was conducted in 3 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meeting, where each cycle consistsof 4 stages,namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Based on the results of the study, children’s ability to recognize geometric shapes in cycle I, children’s activities reached 66% and children’s ability to recognize geometric shapes reached 37%, this indicated that the study has not been succesfull because the target that must be achieved is ≥80% so that the study was continued in cycle II,in cycle II children’s activities reached an increase of 75% and children’s ability to recognize geometric shapes reached 65% in cycle II still did not meet the target increase then continued in cycle III. In cycle III the results of children’s activity rechead 91% and children’s ability to recognize shapes reached 82%. So this classroom action research has been declared succesfull based on the results of the data analysis of cycle III and it can be concluded that through PAPTRI media (Geometric Puzzle Board) can improve children’s ability to recognize geometric shapes in group B Pos PAUD Terpadu Beji Bersemi Pakal Surabaya.
