Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berhitung Anak Kelompok B Melalui Penggunaan Media Ular Tangga Kreatif Di TK Asy-syafiiyah Surabaya

Abstract

The background of this research began with initial observation data indicating that the numeracy skills of Group B children at TK Asy-Syafiiyah Surabaya were still low. This was evident during math lessons when children did not respond enthusiastically and were often distracted or chatting with friends. Based on this issue, the purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of using creative snakes and ladders media in improving the numeracy skills of Group B children at TK Asy-Syafiiyah Surabaya. These skills include the ability to mention number symbols from 1 to 20, sequence the number symbols correctly, and perform addition from 1 to 20 using objects.

This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were 20 children from Group B of TK Asy-Syafiiyah Surabaya. Data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, and interviews, while data analysis used simple statistical methods.

The results of the analysis in Cycle 1 showed that the children's numeracy skills reached 44% in Meeting 1, 54% in Meeting 2, and 67% in Meeting 3. These results indicated that the target of ≥80% had not been achieved, so the study continued to Cycle 2. In Cycle 2, Meeting 1 reached 70%*, Meeting 2 reached 80%, and Meeting 3 reached 85%,  showed that the target was achieved based on the analysis of the last two meetings.

It can be concluded that the use of creative snakes and ladders media can improve the numeracy skills of Group B children (1–20) at TK Asy-Syafiiyah Surabaya.
