This study aims to enhance letter recognition skills among children in group B at TK IT Nada Ashobah Wiyung Surabaya by utilizing wooden letter media. The subjects of the research consist of 15 children, including 6 boys and 9 girls. This research is motivated by the low letter recognition abilities observed in some children within group B. The methodology employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR), designed in a cyclical format consisting of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques involve observation, while data analysis utilizes quantitative analysis to calculate the scores obtained from the observations.
Based on the results from cycle I, after four meetings, the teacher's activity reached 51%, children's activity was at 56%, and children's ability was at 48%. Following improvements made in cycle II, significant increases were observed, with the teacher's activity reaching 79%, children's activity at 77%, and children's letter recognition ability increasing to 82%. The Classroom Action Research is deemed successful as it has achieved the predetermined target. The data indicates that the use of wooden letter media is effective in improving letter recognition skills among group B children at TK IT Nada Ashobah Wiyung Surabaya.
