PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERHITUNG DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA LOOSEPART TUTUP BOTOL KELOMPOK TK A DI TK IT NADA ASHOBAH WIYUNG SURABAYA

Abstract

The aim of this study is to improve children's numeracy skills using loose part media in Group A at TK IT Nada Ashobah Surabaya. The research method used is classroom action research with both classical and individual approaches. This study was conducted at TK IT Nada Ashobah Wiyung Surabaya from October to December 2024. The research subjects consisted of all 25 children in Group A at TK IT Nada Ashobah Wiyung. Data collection techniques included observation, field notes, and documentation. The data analysis technique applied in this study was descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the initial numeracy ability of children in Group A at TK IT Nada Ashobah Wiyung Surabaya had an average score of 28%. After receiving a special intervention using loose part media (bottle caps), their skills improved to 44% in Cycle I, 63% in Cycle II, and 95% in Cycle III. The use of simple teaching aids, such as bottle caps and number cards, proved to be effective in enhancing numerical understanding through visualization and object manipulation. This approach not only made learning more enjoyable and interactive but also stimulated curiosity and encouraged social interaction. However, repetition and variations in methods are still needed to strengthen children's understanding continuously.
