Abstract
The purpose of this study was to improve the expressive language skills of children aged 3-4 years through activities outside the classroom, namely visiting and shopping at a greengrocer near the school. This activity was chosen as an effective way to improve children's expressive language, because the activity is fun and can provide a different experience from activities in the classroom. Children can choose and buy their own favorite vegetables or fruits, can interact directly with adults other than teachers. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research which was conducted in 3 cycles on 12 children at PPT Madani Surabaya with qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. This study was successful because from the results of observations conducted before and after the cycle there was an increase in expressive language skills. Before the action, children's expressive language skills were 33.3%, after the action in cycle 1, it increased to 65.3%. Because the achievement is still too low and has not reached the success indicator of 80%, it is necessary to take action again in cycle 2 (72.2%) and cycle 3 (87.5%). The results of cycle 3 have reached the success indicator value and are included in the category of developing very well. Thus, it is concluded that extracurricular activities such as visiting and shopping at greengrocer can improve children's expressive language skills at PAUD Madani Surabaya.
